Rural idyll

Some found still life studies I shot the other day.  Sometimes you only need a few well-selected close-ups of inanimate objects to give the flavour of a place. The location is a nearby deserted farm which stands forlorn and neglected amidst its fields, its demeanour sullen and unwelcoming, shattering every illusion of the rural idyll.  Everywhere are traces of the previous occupants - abandoned bits and pieces, items of farm equipment whose purpose remains a mystery to the uninitiated, the detritus of living off the land.  A solitary farm cat, nestling in the straw in a barn, was the only living creature I came across.  Cold Comfort Farm has got nothing on this one.  Enjoy!
